Bamble, Drangedal and Porsgrunn decided in the autumn of 2019 to establish one company who can fulfil the responsibilities and duties to deal with and prevent unwanted fires and accidents. The result is Grenland brann og redning IKS (Grenland Fire and Rescue), and we were fully established January 1, 2021.
We are convinced that one joint company is more able to provide and deal with fires and accidents due to better expertise, more efficient resource utilization and increased impact force. Common digital solutions will also make us more resilient in interaction, communication, cooperation and coordination.
But remember that it is your own efforts that matter most to prevent fires and accidents and to reduce the consequences. The majority of fires occurs in the home, and many of these could have been avoided.
